Sportnatic was created the goal in mind of giving people access to sports lessions with professionals anywhere in the world, these pro’s would normally be very hard to gain access to.
It was an idea of Nicolas Lapentti, former professional tennis player and No. 6 in the world in the ATP Rankings and as our CEO he founded Sportnatic because he wanted all fans from around the world to get close to professional tennis player and coaches.
Since he began playing tennis on the beach at age six with his father in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Nicolas always showed his passion for tennis on a daily basis. Lapentti made his ATP debut as a qualifier in Bogota in 1995 and won title. Since the he kept winning and climbing in the rankings, working as hard as possible.
In 1999, Lapentti compiled his best season by climbing 84 ranking positions from previous year to finish No. 8 to became one of three South Americans (Kuerten, Rios) to finish in Top 10 for first time in ATP Rankings history (since 1973). He also was the first Ecuadorian in Top 10 since Andres Gomez was No. 6 in 1990.
That year, Lapenttii reached first Grand Slam SF at Australian Open with four five-set victories, and went 6-0 in five-set matches during that year in which he captured titles in Indianapolis (d. Spadea) and Lyon (d. Kuerten in QF, Hewitt in final) and also advanced to SF at AMS Paris (l. to Agassi).

“I was very lucky to play with different generations of players the made history, like Pete Sampras & Andre Agassi, and players that are still winning matches and trophies like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic… all this great players have discipline and love the game and also they all have in thing in common: they have great teams behind them”, Lapentti explains.
